Course Preparation

  • Firearm – We suggest your choice for self-defense. Semi-automatic pistols should have extra magazines if available. Due to the cost of ammunition, a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol is suggested. Plan to expend no less than 150 rounds of environmentally safe ammunition such as Encased Metal Jacket or Full Metal Jacket if available. Guns and ammunition will be inspected prior to shooting.
  • Dress for weather conditions and comfort.
  • You will have 1 hour for lunch and there are local places to eat such as McDonalds, Burger King and Wendy’s. If you want to bring your lunch, that is fine. Also, consider bringing snacks, soft drinks and water in a cooler.
  • 1 old bath towel required for padding out the bench rest shooting position
  • Wrap around eye protection rated for shooting required
  • Ear plugs and muffs required
  • Flashlight required
  • Notebook and pen suggested
